Stanmore Golf Club is one of the premier private members clubs in the region, but also provides a warm welcome to non-members as well. Monday and Friday are public days where all visitors green fees are reduced and therefore offers excellent value for money.
The course can be described as a "parkland course" with a variation. The holes on the far side of the course are more of the heath type where as some of the holes on the lower ground have the air of being carved out of the woods. The holes on the high ridge provide a test of our hitting powers and the woodland holes make no less a demand on our ability to keep straight. None of the woods at Stanmore are out of bounds and one or two errant shots can easily ruin an otherwise perfect card.
